Radon Testing Devices

Algoma Radon Testing has been conducting radon testing and mitigation since 1977. Through extensive testing experience we recognized that Rad Elec E-perm Radon detectors were the most reliable, efficient, accurate and environmentaly friendly testing detectors available. Rad Elec E-perms are true integrating detectors that measure radon concentration regardless of extreme temperature or humidity. E-perm Radon Detectors can be used for short term testing that can range from 2 to 7 days or long term testing up to several months.

Algoma Radon Testing also employs the Continuous Radon Monitor. This radon monitor, data logger has special features which include parameters that indicate hourly measurements for radon, temperature, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity and motion sensing. This radon testing device can be used for compliance testing (Building Code requirements), post radon mitigation testing and for real estate transactions. The testing period can range from a few days to several weeks. Radon test results can be available within the hour.

For diagnostic testing purposes Algoma Radon Testing conducts Radon Progeny Grab Sampling. This allows for quick radon testing and results are available in a short period of time.

When home owners require quick results Algoma Radon Testing recommends initial radon screening measurements over a period of 2 to 7 days or longer to determine the presence and concentration of radon. If the radon results exceed the Health Canada action level of 200 Bq/m3 a further follow-up test may be required. This follow-up measurement is to provide the owner with enough information to make an informed decision on whether to mitigate to reduce radon levels.
